The Lviv Vocational College was one of 54 VET schools which were supported by EU4Skills. By the middle of September 2022 the programme provided 4.000 matrasses, 5.500 pillows, 1.500 blankets, 1.500 folding beds to Ukrainian families in need who stay in the dormitories of these VET schools in Lviv and Chernivtsy regions. Overall, the package of support of EU4Skills included three components: the provision of emergency goods, psychological support for IDPs and developing recommendations on how to better manage the dormitories in VET schools. The visiting delegation met IDPs from various areas of Eastern Ukraine. Currently almost 100 IDPs are accommodated in a dormitory building of the VET school. Director of institution Ganna Balushchak thanked EU4Skills and its donors for support. To them belong the European Union and the member states Germany, Finland and Poland. Despite the air alarm and 45 minutes in the shelter, representatives of the VET School and delegation successfully continued their tour. Delegation visited VET school premises including dormitory, shelter, kitchen, restaurants and other laboratories of the institution.
