Ukrainian VET teachers improved their skills during the “School nutrition” training

On August 2-19 EU4Skills with Ukrainian partners organized in-service training for  trainers “School nutrition” for Ukrainian VET teachers to increase their qualification. Education and Youth Board of Estonia helped 51 VET teachers from 5 regions of Ukraine to learn modern technics in food hygiene, healthy and special diet, in order to meet requirements of the new law in Ukraine regarding food provision in schools, kindergartens and other educational institutions.

The curriculum „School nutrition“ was developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Volyn Oblast Administration, as well as Education and Youth Board specialists from Estonia and teachers of Olustvere School of Service and Rural Economics. Practical part of the trainings took place in Lviv Vocational College of Hotel Tourism and Restaurant Service.

 Online trainings were conducted by one of Estonia’s most recognized specialists in healthy and special nutrition, Maire Vesingi, who works at Olustvere School of Service and Rural Economics as a vocational teacher. Participants also received ToT training and can pass on knowledge to other colleagues and chefs of different educational institutions in Ukraine. Ukrainian partners also provided an overview of the new law regulations regarding food nutrition.
